The Orinoco Delta
… has an area of 40,000 km² and 375 river arms bring the water masses of the Orinoco to the Atlantic. The delta is very rich in parrots, toucans, horned birds and caimans. The Indians who live in this area call themselves Warao. That means the man with boat.
Our local tour guide is an Indian from the tribe of Warao, he tells us the different bird species, river arms and plants. We will go on a jungle walk where we will get to know different medicinal plants and other plants which the Indians use for different purposes. Of course you can go Piranha fishing and if you want you can take them to the camp to try them. If the weather is good, we can experience an unforgettable sunset on the Rio Orinoco.
